The Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center [AAIC], located at the heart of the Twin Cities, not only serves as a central place of worship for a sizeable Muslim community but also as a multi-purpose community center. The center itself was founded in 1998.
Across the AAIC is a bustling shopping center, a Halal market and bazaar, and many restaurants that cater to a diverse group of people.
AAIC is approximately a 15-minute drive away from Downtown, Uptown and the Minneapolis-St Paul International airport. AAIC is also in close proximity to nearby lakes, parks, and recreational centers.
Local community scholars and vibrant community leaders started the AAIC with the help of Allah and support from the Muslim community to help meet the religious and cultural needs and demands in the Twin Cities Metro area. Collecting initial funds and search of the site lasted six years before the site was purchased on July 29, 2006.
The center currently sits on a massive 95000 square feet of land.
